He is a 33-year-old Belgian taking a career break from October to December and wants to use the time to sail before returning to a fixed schedule in January. His ideal plan is an Atlantic crossing, for example with the ARC. He grew up sailing dinghies and started on yachts a few years ago, with about 750 coastal miles so far and no ocean miles yet. In early October he takes part in the Adriatic 600 regatta, adding 600 miles of non-stop coastal sailing. In the second half of October he sails from Mallorca to the Canary Islands via Madeira, around 1600 miles of offshore experience. He is happy to take on watches, navigation, sail trim or whatever is useful, and is keen to learn as much as possible. He describes himself as easygoing and not afraid of hard work. He is a non-smoker and vegetarian. He is open to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Black Sea, West Africa and South Atlantic islands, and Western Europe and North Atlantic islands.
