A 34-year-old German traveller is looking for a place on a sailboat for an Atlantic crossing, ideally in November or December. He is on a long trip around the world with his backpack and hopes to continue through Central and South America, which is why he wants to cross by sailboat. He is currently in Gibraltar but is very flexible. He is happy to move to other ports in southern Spain, Portugal or even the Canary Islands to join a boat. By trade he is an electrician from Hamburg, where he planned and installed photovoltaic systems and battery storage. He has good technical knowledge and practical skills that could be useful on board. He is a beginner in sailing, with two short trips behind him, one on the Baltic Sea and one on the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands. He is highly motivated to learn and to pitch in with everything that needs doing on board. He describes himself as calm, reliable and sociable, and likes good conversation, reading and keeping a travel journal. He understands how important crew atmosphere is on a long passage and would like a chat beforehand to see whether they get along. He speaks German and English fluently and is glad to pay his share of the onboard expenses.
