The owner of a 1978 Moody 52 ketch is looking for a young couple, or a couple who are young at heart, to join a crew of four for an extended passage from the Caribbean to Europe in 2027. He would like competent crew or above, though other trades and skills are welcome. An easy-going nature, a team spirit and a taste for life on board over a long passage are essential. Crew pay their own travel costs to and from the boat, including a return ticket or bond. The owner covers expenses on board. Time on board and other arrangements are flexible and open to negotiation. The 16 m heavy displacement blue water cruiser is fitted out for ocean passages. The life raft and mainsail are new, and the lifejackets, EPIRB and safety gear are new or in date. Starlink or similar will be installed before the Atlantic crossing. The boat has just had a year-long refit and maintenance in a boatyard, and carries a Highfield dinghy with a 9.8 hp outboard. It has six berths and English is spoken on board. The skipper is a 66-year-old British man with an RYA Oceanmaster qualification and more than 10,000 sea miles. He speaks fluent English and has basic Spanish.
