This 71-year-old American sailor, based in Chicago, is looking for a berth on a transatlantic crossing, ideally the ARC, though he is open to worldwide opportunities. He has 15 years of competitive sailing on a wide variety of boats, with about 6000 ocean miles and 3000 coastal miles, and more than 50 nights at sea. He has already crossed the Atlantic twice: once aboard a tall ship and once delivering a 54-foot catamaran from Gibraltar to St. Thomas. He has also done many deliveries along the US Atlantic seaboard, including a 100-foot sailboat from Newport to Miami. He owns and races his own boat, holds an International Safety at Sea certificate and teaches sailing on Lake Michigan. He is comfortable in every crew position, has great endurance at sea and has never been seasick. He wants to build more offshore experience to qualify for an offshore endorsement on his 100-ton coastal USCG license. He is a non-smoker, married, and has no dietary requirements.
